This book is primarily a compilation of material available elsewhere either in other books of the same author, in the Google online documentation or in various blogs of web professionals. Attention to details is not the author or the editor’s forte: there are numerous typos and don’t blame your eyes if you see the same sentence twice (at the end of a page and at the beginning of the next). The layout is not particularly appealing either and a large portion of the book is a self-promotion exercise for the author, the publisher and various web professionals.
If you are a complete beginner and not put off by what I just said, it may be worth reading: there is still a fair amount of useful content in the book. Repetitive at times but if you’re a beginner it might be sensible to go over the same concepts more than once.

This publication unravels the workings of the most popular search engine on the internet, Google. Through creativity, organization and strategically placed keywords, Google will place the website for your business in the top search results and you will have more visits to your site. It only makes sense that more visits, or hits, the more sales you will make.

In The Complete Guide to Google Advertising, Bruce C. Brown explains how to utilize the various marketing methods Google offers. The techniques explained include Pay-Per-Click advertising, AdWords and Adsense. He also provides a history of Google and online marketing that is extremely informative. Various case studies are cited to provide back-up proof that these techniques work.

The section that I found the most interesting was about developing a marketing plan. Mr. Brown not only identified the steps to achieve that, but he also explained each one in detail. Beginning with a market analysis and moving on through establishing a business objective until you finally end up with a marketing strategy. Through this it is much easier to decide which aspect of Google’s marketing choices will fit your business the best.

This is a book that can be referred back to repeatedly as the focus of your business changes and markets fluctuate. This book is a great resource for Internet marketing.

If you answered yes to either of these questions, then Bruce Brown’s latest book, The Complete Guide To Google Advertising Including Tips, Tricks, & Strategies to Create a Winning Advertising Plan, is a must-have for your reference library.

Brown’s book is extremely informative, logically devised, and most important, easily understood. It is very "user-friendly" and anyone, from novice to marketing expert, will find a myriad of new marketing ideas easily adapted for a particular product or service. Another bonus for both business owners and consumers is the list of Search Engines and Web Directories listed on pages 277, 278, & 279. This section provides the name of multiple search engines used when searching for information, goods, and services.

I have a burgeoning pet toy company and website, so I was eager to find the best way for me to ensure my website and my company is easily found by people doing web searches.
Reading a bit of the history of web advertising was very interesting to me, how it has evolved and continues to evolve is very useful to understand how it works.

This book really helped me understand exactly what effort was required on my part to make sure that I was able to achieve the results I wanted. It not only helped me figure out the kind of marketing plan I needed, but also helped me simplify it so that I didn’t let the planning side of the marketing overwhelm me.
Additionally, the book covered a lot of useful tips for the actual content we could add to our website. Things like a "privacy policy" or "about us" can be useful to helping us keep customers!

So many words are thrown at us on the internet when it comes to looking for information about advertising your website, this book truly helped me understand what things like "PPC" "Keywords" "Adwords" or "SEO" are!
Thoroughly understanding how a PPC account really works is very useful to someone who would want to set up their own account.

This book really has so much valuable information, it can be a lot of almost overwhelming information for a small non-computer savvy small business owner, but I really think that its an invaluable tool for business owners of all levels.

When Was The Last Time You Heard A Tring… Tring!

When was the last time you heard a Tring..Tring! The genuine sound (ringtone as we say today) of a TELEPHONE ringing (TELEPHONE as in Alexander Graham Bell). Long time I guess.. 3 years more?

Communication technology in the past 100 years has come a long way, gone far beyond a common mans expectations giving or gifting him the toys to communicate on the move. Be it laptops, palmtops, mobile phones, satellite phones and the wireless internet. What else can we expect in the next 100 years of existence? Hard to imagine, harder to believe. Whoever believed in a mobile phone 20-25 years back?

Well, the gizmos have arrived and are here to stay. Wed better get used to them before we are left far behind in the past. In order to stay abreast of mobile technologies and mobile gadgets one needs a simple basic know how of using a telephone. Believe it or not, despite all advertisements and promos (with feature lists) that we see everyday for mobile phones, they are very, very easy and simple to use. The fun lies here.

Apart from being a basic telephone, the mobile phone has evolved into a personal accessory which speaks a lot about the person who carries it. Thereby, it also carries a snob value, because of which a person always tends to have the latest, with the best features despite the cost of procuring or replacement.

Once a mobile phone has evolved into a personal accessory, a lot of customization goes into it. Therefore the need for software and content viz. ringtones, wallpapers, screensavers, logos, games, themes, headsets, facia, software, comes to the fore. Thank god weve always had a resource called the Internet, the source of all information, be it the basic phones or the content or the software.

Customization of a mobile phone to suit your personal tastes is not the work for an engineer. You can do it yourself, if you fiddle around with one for a couple of days or so. Every mobile phone model is different in itself as far as looks, features, menus etc go, but basically the same. It only takes some getting used to.

A mobile phones future is that it wants to grow to be a computer. Well, pretty much so when we see PDAs evolving from mobile phones and computers shrinking to Palm tops. You know where you are headed, just use a little compu-sense when you use your mobile, you will get off to a flying start.

Lets get on a little What is on these features

Wallpaper: A background picture that you see when you look at the LCD of your mobile phone.

Ringtones: The sound that is played by your mobile phone when someone calls you.

Games: Gaming software that you can load into your mobile phone to play when you are free.

Themes: Wallpaper, ringtone, logo, color schemes etc all rolled into one so that you dont have to set them individually.

WAP: Internet access settings for your mobile phone, these have to be set manually as per your service operator specifications.

Software: Miscellaneous stuff viz. games etc. Other software to lock, unlock your phones, diagnosing problems etc.

A mobile phone now-a-days comes with a lot of features like a built in camera, an MP3 player, a voice recorder etc. You can use all the features, or you can learn to use all the features, alternatively decide on what features you need and make a buying decision.

Believe it or not, many people want to say that their mobile phone has a camera, many people use it regularly, and most people who have a mobile phone with a camera hardly use it after the first week. Imagine that they must have spent at least 50 - $100 extra for the camerawhy? It is primarily the decision of the user, what phone he/she wants, but keep in mind the primary use of a mobile phone is to be connected on the move.

All I have done is given you a fair picture of a mobile phone and highlighted the pros and cons to help you make the right decision while buying one. As far as accessories, content and software are concerned, I will strongly suggest you that you check out http://www.mobilebuz.com

The Main Reasons Credit Cards Expire And Top Tips For Easily And Quickly Renewing Them

Aside from the long string of numbers that serves to identify your account, a short series of numbers makes up the expiration date of your credit card. Many people are unaware of the expiration date of their credit card but the credit card approval network knows exactly when credit cards expire.

There are several reasons that credit cards have expiration dates and some of those reasons are mentioned below:

*Credit cards expire because the magnetic strip attached on the back of each credit card will eventually wear out. Once your credit card’s magnetic strip wears out, credit card terminals and ATMs will not be able to read your card and process your transactions.

*Credit cards have expiration dates so credit card companies can get in touch with their customers in a timely manner. This time can be used by the company to inquire about any issues or complaints that the customer has. If your credit card were about to expire, you would receive a reminder from your credit card company with an option to renew with them.

*Credit cards expire for the security of cardholders. An expiration date allows the credit card companies to make sure that you are who say you are and that there have been no fraudulent activities associated with your credit card. With identity theft on the rise, this is not a bad thing. There have been instances when credit cards have been opened in someone’s name without him or her knowing and charges made on the card. If your credit card expires, your credit card company will get in touch with you and alert you about current fraud trends.

*Credit card companies may also use the time before the expiration dates of credit cards to remind clients of their existence. This is especially for people who don’t make use of their cards very often.

If your credit card is about to expire, renewing it isn’t hard at all. You would most likely get a new one in the mail about a month prior to your current credit card’s expiration date. If you are a frequent traveler, make sure you check your credit card’s expiration date. It might expire while you are away. If your credit card expires while you are traveling, you won’t be able to use it in your transactions or emergencies. So before you go off anywhere, call your credit card company and request they send you a new card before you leave.

As soon as you get your new credit card, read the literature that comes with it. You don’t want to miss any new features such as new and improved terms of use. However, if you discover that there have been changes to your terms and they are not good, get into touch with your credit card company right away. Refrain from using your new credit card until your request for changing the term is approved. If the credit card company denies your request, you can simply cancel the card. You’ll easily find a credit card company with better terms.

    Amazon.com Review

Parents of preemies and infants at increased risk of SIDS lose a lot of sleep wondering if their babies are still breathing. Even parents of healthy babies experience this kind of anxiety. With its movement sensor pad, sound transmitter, sound lights, and movement detecting ticking sound, The Angelcare Movement Sensor with Sound Monitor can take away virtually all this anxiety.

Three Functions, Infinite Peace of Mind
The Angelcare Movement Sensor has three modes of use, enabling parents to use the sensor/sound monitor well into toddlerhood and beyond, if desired. With the Sound & Movement function, you can hear your baby’s sounds, see sound lights, and hear a tic sound with every movement the baby makes. If no movement is detected, the tic will stop and after 20 seconds the alarm will sound. In the Tic Off mode you will not hear the ticking sound with every movement. However, you will still hear the baby’s sounds and see sound lights, and your baby’s movement is still being detected. An alarm will still sound if absolutely no movement is detected for 20 seconds. And finally, with Sound Only, the movement sensor is disabled, but you will still be able to hear your baby’s sounds and see sound lights. In this mode, the Angelcare functions as a regular sound monitor. For many parents, just being able to hear the sighs and squeaks of the newest member of the family is reassurance enough. For those who need more input, for whatever reason, the additional sensory features of the Angelcare can be lifesaving.

How the Angelcare Movement Sensor Works
A sensor pad is placed under the center of baby’s crib mattress on a flat, hard surface. The sensor pad cord passes underneath the mattress entirely, exiting the crib in the corner. It is then plugged into the jack of the nursery unit transmitter. The nursery unit can be plugged into an electrical outlet or it can operate with four AAA batteries. The same goes for the parents’ unit receivers (two parents’ units included). Turn the parents’ units on by selecting either channel A or B. Make sure they’re set to the same channel as the nursery unit. Set the nursery unit to the desired mode (Sound & Movement, Tic Off, or Sound Only). You may leave one parents’ unit in your bedroom and carry the other with you as you move about the house and yard. Now, depending on the function you’ve selected, you’ll be able to keep track of your baby’s every sound and movement.

    Sound Lights
Indicator lights on an LED sound bar (on the parents’ unit) allow you to see your baby’s sounds if background noises prevent you from hearing baby. As baby’s sounds get louder, more lights illuminate.

    Optional Tic Feature
When the nursery unit is set to Sound & Movement, it will continuously tick with every movement your baby makes. If no movement is detected by the sensor pad beneath baby’s mattress, the ticking will stop.

    Movement Indicator Light
The movement indicator light is located only on the nursery unit. When the nursery unit is set to Sound & Movement or Tic Off, the movement indicator light will flash green with baby’s every movement. The flashing green light will let you know that movement is being detected, which will allow you to check on a sleeping baby in the dark.

    False Alarms
False alarms are possible with the Angelcare Movement Sensor, especially if instructions have not been followed to a t. Make sure to turn off the nursery unit after you’ve taken baby out of the crib. Also, once baby starts being more mobile, she may roll right off the sensor pad area of the mattress. A troubleshooting guide in the instruction manual gives other solutions to false alarms.

    What’s in the Box
Angelcare Movement Sensor includes movement sensor pad, nursery sound monitor, two parents’ units, instruction manual, and three AC adapters. Twelve AAA batteries are required (not included).–Emilie Coulter

Even with this being my third baby I still was terrified to have him sleep where I couldn’t hear him. This has made it so I can sleep. We tested the alarm feature numerous times before I put my baby down to bed in a different room and I am satisfied that it works. We’ve had no trouble with false alarms. Remember to turn off the alarm after you take baby out though. We didn’t put the board under the matress but used a square cut from cardboard box left from when we moved. It works fine. I strongly recommend having two monitors so you can leave one in your room and put the other one where you are during the day. I don’t like the tic feature but it can be used to reasure the most nervous parents that the baby is still moving. It took us about 20 minutes to get everything set up because we did read the instructions. I strongly recommend this monitor to nervous parents and to others just as a precaution. It’s great!

I gave this monitor as a gift after having one of my own when my daughter was an infant. This is a MUST HAVE for all new parents. Brings great piece of mind.

    Review date : 2008-05-09
This monitor is great. It isn’t a perfect unit, as it will give you a few false alarms if the baby is sleepin on the edge of crib. But the few false alarms I’ve had are surely worth the piece of mind. We’ve had used it continuously for three years and it’s still in fine condition.

I love this very easy to use baby monitor that gives me a great deal of peace of mind when I am sleeping. It is a wonderful product for anyone to have and a great gift.

Considering that the film is about how our material civilization is destroying the planet, it’s more than a little ironic that the Disney Corporation is issuing a whole line of WALL-E merchandise. They should have added a scene to the film where WALL-E scoops up a WALL-E action figure in out of all the junk and has an existential crisis. (Maybe it’ll be in the video release).

Oh well, WALL-E is adorable and the planet’s doomed anyway and I could use something for my desk…..

    Review date : 2008-07-10
I love to collect movie/tv collectible and i had to get Wall e after watching the movie. It has wheels so it rolls around and its arms are movable and its robot wrists open and kinda has a opposable thumg. Head can rotate. :) it’s nice.

    Review date : 2008-07-05
I loved the movie and wanted both WALL-E and EVE for my desk. The movie scene figure sets are small and cheap, but the characters are made of rubber and non-posable; for example, the one with Eve holding the lightbulb means you can never move her arms or remove the lightbulb. The bigger, interactive toys have great detail and posability, but they cost much more, which is understandable. So I got the 2.5 inch WALL-E and the 3 inch EVE, and they’re great!

At just six bucks a figure (at Blockbuster), you get toys that are posable, and very detailed. WALL-E even looks a little dirty, just like in the movie! He has non-movable tracks, but does have tiny wheels so you can roll him. The arms move, the hands open and close, and his head turns. EVE (sold separately) has a stand so she can float, has movable arms you can tuck into her body, and a head you can turn and tilt.

They may not be sturdy enough for tiny children, but for everyone else they’re great; low price, posability, and great attention to detail. I love them!

    KaGlom

KaGlom is such a great game that its only a matter of time until it has a cult following. The game is similar to Tetris and Bejeweled but it follows a slightly more action packed format. Blocks are destroyed with a sound that could easily be described as KAGLOM!

Its challenging enough to rope in the serious puzzle gamer while still containing enough frantic action to entertain the casual fan. If you’re looking for a quality game to play on the move, you will often find that Glu do it best, especially with their proprietary brands - things like Fatal Force, Zuma and the like. Not surprising, then, that the trend is expanding into the brave new world of mobile 3D gaming, which is currently underrepresented by most developers. Glu, however, have managed to deliver a near Game Boy Advance experience with Alpha Wing 2.

    Jewel Quest

Jewel Quest deviates slightly from the standard Tetris format. The goal in Jewel Quest is to turn all the squares red rather than eliminate them. This may seem like a small difference but it fundamentally changes the gameplay. The variation adds a more strategic aspect to this simple puzzle game by making where you make your connection more important then simply just making connections.

    Block Breaker Deluxe

Block Breaker Deluxe is basically Pong on drugs. Your goal is to use the ball along with an explosive array of weapons and power-ups to destroy many, many blocks. Im sure we all know this style of game, but what separates Block Breaker Deluxe from its cheaper cousins is the attention to detail and general mayhem Gameloft is willing to pump into this futuristic throw back. In an industry polluted with big budget movie tie-ins and overly complex controls, its refreshing to see such a simple, yet well done game

    The Whackness

There are a lot of terrible games available for download. In fact, the majority of mobile games arent worth your time/money. This is a list of some of those games.

    War of the Worlds

War of the Worlds is a 2D side-scrolling shooter, with a very clean and distinct visual style. The game tries to create some variety with the use of different types of attacks; you can shoot em down, use your everything-dies super attack, or my personal favorite: the grab and toss. Although having these multiple attacks does add variety, it crams your fingers all in one small area that makes for a horribly awkward game.

    King Kong

Youre basically a giant monkey running through the jungle, busting dino skulls with your ape-rage. Like the film, King Kong is visually impressive, but in both cases the content just isnt up to par. I may get some flack about putting this game in the whackness column when there seems to be so many deserving contestants, but I stand by my convictions. Nothing is worse than knowing a project had a huge budget and great production team only to turn out a mediocre product.

    D12 Fighting

This is usually where I tell you a little bit about how to play the game and what it offers, and I wish I could. I honestly would if I could, but I haven’t got the slightest clue how to play the thing. I tried reading the instructions and it became apparent that I was going nowhere without a Rosetta stone, so I pressed play hoping I could pick it up as I went along. I pressed each button individually. I pressed them in patterns. And eventually I was just givin ‘er on the keypad like I was Data of the Star Trek Enterprise. All in all probably the worst game Ive ever played.

    24

The game goes like this: read for an hour, play a minigame and repeat. Some of the minigames are alright, but for the most part I’d rather stick a flaming chopstick in my eyes. One of the minigames involves maneuvering Bauer though what looks like a bird’s eye view of a bad acid trip. If you get spotted by one of the guards, your options are to dodge or shoot what looks like a corn kernel. Another minigame involves driving from point A to B without hitting the cars around you. This minigame is so easy that I play it while actually driving. This is a terrible game for a great show.

    Prince of Persia: Warrior Within

Prince of Persias frustrating gameplay and whack plot create a pretty disparate view of ancient Persia. The game contains lots of beautiful women in the game which the prince decides to constantly avoid for no apparent reason. Also, the game is incredibly difficult; almost too difficult. I played this game for about an hour before I decided to throw my cellular phone into the garbage.

That is why I have to end the article here.
